U.S. dollar jumps on safe-haven demand

The dollar index, which measures the greenback against six major peers, rose 0.54 percent to 102.3050. In late New York trading, the euro fell to 1.0647 U.S. dollars from 1.0714 dollars in the previous session, and the British pound was down to 1.2589 dollars from 1.2734 U.
